What’s worst about this duel is that the outcome didn’t really matter because Z-Arc was going to be revived regardless of who won or lost. Either Yuya wins and becomes Z-Arc (as shown here) or Yuri does. It was a zero sum game at this point, they couldn’t do anything which was fucking sad. Declan saying “Just focus on winning Yuya!” CLEARLY didn’t help as that only instigated it (which wasn’t his fault, bc he didn’t knew that would be the trigger to set Z-Arc off but still).

Oh… it's shorter than I remember. The animation of second part is great.
Arc V is a huge mess like everyone say, but there duels and moments that made me still love Arc V like this.

This one card, makes no sense.
It's one of the worst moments of this entire duel, considering it still Targets a Monster with Levels. Dark rebellion should've never been a Target.
Completely Plot Armor for Yuri.
Honestly this entire point in the anime was a Shitshow.
Sad we won't ever see this quality, in a Yu-Gi-Oh series with Good writing.
It would've also been cool to see Action Cards become a Real thing.
Take damage, and be randomly given an action card, from an Action deck.
The duel is nice but I still found it stupid Kaito and Edo attacked Yugo instead of helping Yugo beat Yuri was pretty dumb.
Even after five years since Arc-V ended, there will always be people criticizing this show's cause it's "bad execution", or its "wasted potential in characters" or even its "storyline" in general, so much that there will be fanfics about Arc-V and the writers of said story trying to "fix" Arc-V main story and turn it into something they can be contempt with.

Honestly in my opinion. Best duel in Arc-V if not then one of the greatest
This was one of the most emotional duels in the show, and easily the most anxiety inducing. Watching Yuya struggling against Zarc's influence, the overall desperation, the heartbreak at having to sacrifice the last memory of his now dead father when he was forced to discard Smile World, the thoughts about everyone that he cares about and is fighting for, Yuri's sadistic, hammy insanity, and the tragedy of Yuya failing to fight off Zarc at the last second purely because Reiji made a mistake with his choice of words.
Season 3 of Arc V had a lot of really shoddy execution that didn't do the show's amazing premise justice (if only the show had time to split the final Season in two, and had approached things differently such as giving the Bracelet Girls and other characters better treatment after Season 2), but it still had its great moments individually, and this is definitely one of my favorite duels.
